Two weeks ago I traveled to a conference designed to support parents who experience the devastating event of losing a child. While we all know that losing a loved one is difficult for everyone, there is something even more difficult when that loved one is a child.
During this conference, I heard many parents talk of their deep state of emotional weight, and yet found a light of hope in each of their stories. As I reassured them that their beautiful children’s souls were experiencing a playfulness and love so immensely wonderful on the other side, I also let them know that their children could support them with that same loving energy reaching through the veil.
In times of grief, we all experience the ups and downs, and the process isn’t quick nor easy. It is a process of an undetermined length. But if we can go through this process leaning into the possibility that those we miss dearly can still see us, hear us, and guide us with their love, then the process of grief might not feel as weighty. I know from my experience on the other side that all souls are met in a love that is deep, warm, and inexplicably complete. I spent much of the conference ensuring that these lovely parents understood that the door for communication remains available for them to connect with their children on the other side.
If you are suffering the loss of a child, perhaps this extraordinary support group could be helpful. Reach out to Helping Parents Heal: https://www.helpingparentsheal.org/about/ .
Much love,
Anita
